Barcelona star Lionel Messi placed a personal record on the most scored goals from a foul within one season. The Argentine has already scored eight intakes from a direct free kick so far in the campaign.

Messi scored two goals in the Barcelona 3-0 victory against Liverpool in the first Champions League semi-final at Camp Nou. The Argentine’s second goal was a foul as he scored the ball in Alison Becker’s door with a 29-meter shot.

So far, Messi had scored a maximum of seven goals in the 2015/16 and 2017/18 seasons.

The goal in Alison’s goal was scored 29 meters away, making Messi’s shot at the longest distance from a direct free kick.
