The young midfielder Pedro González, Pedri, returned yesterday to the training of the Las Palmas Sports Union, after participating with the Spanish team in the U17 World Cup in Brazil.
On his first day with the team after his return from the international tournament, Pedri did a retraining training in the gym, along with several injured teammates, according to the Gran Canaria club.
With only 16 years, the Tenerife player had become the main reference of the team, along with Jonathan Viera. Until his march to the World Cup, Pedri had played ten games with the almost complete UD Las Palmas (832 minutes), had scored three goals (as many as Rubén Castro) and had served three goal assists to his teammates.
Casualties or not, the Canarian team does not win since Pedri left for the World Cup. In his absence, Pepe Mel’s have added three consecutive losses to Cádiz, Fuenlabrada and Zaragoza. On the last day they tied against Alcorcón.
The Las Palmas Sports Union will hold its last training today before moving to Miranda de Ebro (Burgos), where it plays this Sunday, on the 16th day of LaLiga Smartbank.
